Tradeshows provide an irreplaceable opportunity for companies to showcase their products and expertise, forge new connections, and gain valuable insights into the latest industry trends. The Licensing International Expo (LIE) is no exception.
Bringing together the world’s biggest brands, this event is the greatest licensing show on earth and one which Dependable Solutions were proud to be a part of. We enjoyed our most successful show in 20 years, with over 125 in-person (rather than virtual) meetings.
Back in the game
Summing up our team’s experience of this great networking extravaganza, President Marty Malysz says:
“It was an absolute delight to reconnect with our valued clients and colleagues in person after what felt like an eternity apart. The genuine warmth, the absence of facemasks, the firm handshakes, and even the traditional European cheek kissing were all refreshing.
After the last few years of remote licensing events, it felt fantastic to be back in the game. The energy at LIE 2023 was unparalleled and it was evident that everyone shared the same sentiment.”
The Dependable Solutions team certainly did, as they directed their collective, boundless energy to connecting with clients, prospects, colleagues and old friends from around the globe. With their extensive industry knowledge, Marty, Rhys Fleming, Sales Director EU, and Debbie Olshan, West Coast Sales Director, offered valuable insights into the unique needs of the licensing industry, and how Dependable Solutions’ software and services can support and empower licensing professionals.
Building relationships
Attending events like LIE offers a unique opportunity to network and build relationships with our existing customers and meet potential new ones. John Baker, Manager of Software Development, relished the opportunity to meet people face-to-face. John’s technical expertise was a huge asset at the event and one that was greatly valued by our clients and prospects, who welcomed the chance to share their needs and challenges, and were interested to find out more about how we can contribute to their success.
Miranda Lammers, Client Services Account Manager, who recently joined us, utilized her industry expertise to support future focussed discussions with existing clients, while Lorielle Reader-Core, Client Services Account Coordinator, visited other industry booths to boost her knowledge and establish connections with like-minded licensing professionals.
A major highlight for us was the positive reaction to our presence from our clients who have demonstrated unwavering loyalty to our company, and our software. It was fantastic to speak to clients we had not met in person due to the pandemic. It enabled us to witness firsthand the important contribution that our services make to our clients’ success.
Promising possibilities
The value our clients see in us was evident when they recommended us to other companies that could benefit from our services. The matchmaking services offer by the event organizers, Informa, were also a major boost for us. Being able to search through attendees, connect with other companies, and schedule meetings opened the door to exciting new possibilities.
Final thoughts
Overall, LIE proved to be a transformative event for us, from breaking down geographical barriers and reconnecting with colleagues, to the amplification of our relationships with our clients. By making connections, gaining knowledge and opening doors, we laid the ground work for an exciting future, full of opportunities to support this great industry.
